I remember where I was 4 years ago during this month. I was in Taiwan, attending a Chinese Language camp with my brother and younger sister. It was hot. It was humid. And we were dying.
The camp was like a prison, except without the bars, guards, and prisoners. Our schedule was laid out for us every hour of every day and the teachers gave us tons of homework. I remember we counted down every single day until it would be over. And when it was, everyone started crying. There were people from Hong Kong, Indonesia, and the US. But despite our differences, we all bonded together against a common enemy, our overlords. It's amazing the relationships you build when you are going through hardships.
Anyway, why do I even remember this? Because I remember the World Cup was on tv during that time. Yeah, I know, random memory. It's amazing what kind of junk I have stored in my head.

world cup! last time there was world cup, i woke up in the middle of the night at 3am or something to drive out to a pub to watch an arsenal game. after the game ended, the sun was rising and the people cheering for the winning team filled the streets holding flags & singing. so much fun!
I remember counting down those days! Ya Ting and I had a calendar posted outside our door and we would cross off each day when it was over. Good times, good times.
